EcoBoost is a direct-injection gasoline engine that ranges from 1.0L to 3.5L variants. When introducing them in 2010, Ford promised these engines would be capable of producing power while achieving better fuel efficiency. However owners generally categorize the engine as under-powered, prone to catching on fire, and subject to shaking, shuddering and stalling.
